I was overbearing. I just hoped he would come to love basketball or find something like it that he could love just as much.

[For the first few days on campus, the Leaks lived together in Chris' apartment. But after so many years of sharing a bedroom while growing up, that got old pretty quick.] Chris said to me, 'When is C.J. going to get an apartment, Dad?' ... They love each other, but they have to have their space.

Checks are nice, but that's not the only thing I want to live for. You gotta have your family too.

I need as much as I can get. The cost of living for our generation is way higher than it was for our parents.

(The trip) was a total success. We were happy to host them and be a part of the history of the ship.
