I would say the window is probably now and over the next few months. Families are going to be making choices about whether to move back to New Orleans, and I've got to believe they're thinking about the school system.

If someone is going to have an activity, they should get money from the University in some other way instead of using hall taxes, ... We have hall presidents who say they need 80 bucks, then they need 90 bucks, and pretty soon our hall tax is gone and we can't provide for our students.

All levels of government are focused on homeland security as a priority and the research implications. And this is a fairly modest state investment for a very significant and prestigious piece of NIH research that could be just the start for George Mason.
