They are going through a period of self-education about how the system works. We expect the Chinese to continue to move in the right direction.

The point is, let's encourage America's families to save for education.

Some people talk about education at election time. Al Gore has worked to improve it over a lifetime, ... He will revolutionize public education by investing more and demanding more. He'll treat teachers like the professionals they are. And with Joe Lieberman by his side, he'll continue what we started.

We are deeply disappointed that the administration has chosen, once again, to eliminate federal funding for education technology. Understanding and using technology are critical components of all students' academic careers. We do not see how eliminating federal education technology funding advances [the president's] global competitiveness agenda or helps our students.

I love that stuff. It's part of their education and it ends up being part of mine.
